Ex-county commissioner’s conviction for political-sign damage affirmed by panel

A state appeals panel has affirmed a misdemeanor property-damage conviction issued to attorney and former Cook County Board commissioner Anthony J. Peraica. Peraica, owner of Anthony J. Peraica & Associates Ltd., was arrested in McCook on Oct. 30, 2010, for damaging campaign signs supporting his Democratic opponent, Jeffrey Tobolski. Tobolski, who has served as mayor in McCook since 2007, ultimately beat Peraica, a Republican, for the board seat in the election three days later. Peraica was sentenced to four …
