Town wins fight over fees for video-gambling access

Home-rule towns that allow video gambling in taverns and other businesses can charge licensing fees to the companies that supply the machines, a Cook County judge ruled Wednesday. Circuit Judge Kathleen G. Kennedy dismissed a complaint from Accel Entertainment Gaming LLC that alleged that a $1,000 annual licensing fee imposed by the village of Elmwood Park violated the Illinois Constitution.
