Birth injury nets $5M in settlement

A woman has reached a $5 million settlement in her lawsuit against a hospital and doctor for allegedly failing to identify and treat a condition that caused her child to be born with cerebral palsy.Angela Cecchi was pregnant with her first child when she sought prenatal care with Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group in 2003. Cecchi was taking medication during her pregnancy to treat chronic high blood pressure, a condition that can sometimes lead to more serious risks for an unborn child.One such risk is pre-eclampsia, a …
