A Palatine man asked a state appeals panel this week to place his homeowner’s insurance company on the hook to defend him in an ongoing wrongful-death lawsuit.On the other side, insurer Allied Property and Casualty Insurance contends that the death of a 21-year-old woman in the northwest suburban home isn’t covered by the policy because it stemmed from drug use — an exclusion to the policy.Haley Ellen Johnson died at Joshua Skolnik’s home in May 2012.
