The Cook County Clerk’s office on Friday accepted the write-in candidacy of a Cook County judge who lost her primary in March.The clerk’s decision to accept write-in votes from Circuit Judge Maryam Ahmad puts it at odds with the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners, which announced on Sept. 8 it will not accept her candidacy finding it contravenes state law.The end result is a Cook County judicial subcircuit that will count the Ahmad’s name toward the official election results if submitted on a …
