Facing ADA action, YMCA changes rule

The YMCA of Metro Chicago has entered into a settlement that requires it to administer emergency diabetes medication to participants in YMCA programs and implement a diabetes-management policy within the organization.The two-year agreement — which the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday and became effective Dec. 21 — aims to ensure the organization is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.YMCA Chicago did not admit liability in the matter, and the Justice Department agreed not to …
