Man pursues marriage claim, hit with sanction

An Illinois man who alleges his ex-girlfriend tricked him into believing they were married got a cold reception from a federal appeals court Thursday.The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals declined to revive a lawsuit accusing Leticia Villarreal of fraudulently inducing Jonathan Arnold to give her a condominium and other gifts.The court also sanctioned Arnold for filing a frivolous appeal.The court described as “manifestly unreasonable” Arnold’s contention that he was justified in relying on Villarreal …
