Diversity lauded at Vanguard ceremony

The Chicago Bar Association hosted the largest Vanguard Awards luncheon in its 19-year history at the Standard Club on Thursday.At the ceremony, local bar associations honor one attorney or organization each that make up a vanguard, or a group of people leading the way in new developments or ideas. In addition to celebrating attorneys and organizations, the awards encourage diversity, as most of the 15 local bar associations that participate are identity-based.Participation has spiked in the last year.
