City to pay $925K across four police misconduct suits

The Chicago City Council voted today to settle four lawsuits, paying out $925,000 to plaintiffs who alleged they were victims of police misconduct.This includes a $225,000 payout to an elderly man with cerebral palsy who defecated himself at least once when Chicago police officers allegedly punched him in the head during a raid on his apartment building.The council’s near-unanimous vote — only one lawmaker voted no in settling each lawsuit — brings the total amount of aldermen-approved city settlements in …
