Priest abuse case settles for $1.75M

A man who alleges he was sexually abused by former Catholic priest Daniel McCormack when he was younger has settled his lawsuit for $1.75 million.The plaintiff, identified in court records under John Q. Doe, sued the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2016 alleging it allowed the defrocked priest to be ordained and fill roles involving close interactions with children despite having knowledge of prior sexual misconduct allegations lobbed against him.The archdiocese appointed McCormack as pastor of St. Agatha’s Catholic Church …
