Embattled cop’s lawsuit against IPRA dismissed

A federal judge Thursday threw out a lawsuit filed against Chicago’s Independent Police Review Authority by a police officer who was acquitted of shoving a gun down a suspect’s throat.In a written opinion, U.S. District Judge Manish S. Shah held Glenn Evans did not provide enough evidence to pursue a claim that he was prosecuted in retaliation for exercising his right to free speech.Evans contends he was engaging in protected speech in 1999 when he brought an internal complaint for insubordination against …
