SPRINGFIELD — State lawmakers are examining a program to pay for employee commuter transit and parking costs in the Chicago area.House Bill 2802, sponsored by Rep. Theresa Mah, says employers “shall” pay for public transit or a parking space for vehicles or allow employees to set aside part of their taxable income to pay for their transportation and parking.The measure would cover employees and businesses within the boundaries of the six-county Regional Transportation Authority.Employers would be required …
