Chicago’s federal trial judges will be exploring whether making changes in discovery procedures will speed up court action and cut down on costs in civil cases.The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois will be taking part in the Mandatory Initial Discovery Pilot Project beginning June 1.Lawyers handling cases included in the three-year project will be required to disclose certain information without waiting for a request from the opposing party and before initiating further discovery.At a workshop …
