Nekritz to step down as state representative

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois House of Representatives will lose one of its better-known lawmakers in the near future.Rep. Elaine Nekritz, a Northbrook Democrat known for bipartisanship and for spearheading reform efforts on issues like pensions and criminal justice, has announced she will leave the General Assembly before the 2018 election.Nekritz, 59, began serving in the General Assembly in 2003. She represents the 57th House District, which covers sections of Arlington Heights, Northbrook, Wheeling and Buffalo Grove …
