Lawyer’s $200K in sanctions not going anywhere

A Chicago lawyer sanctioned by the Illinois courts at least five times for his handling of a civil case has now drawn the ire of a federal judge.In a written opinion last week, U.S. District Judge Harry D. Leinenweber rejected the latest bid by Dennis James Stolfo of Stolfo Law Offices to avoid paying sanctions that now amount to $203,224.Leinenweber declined to let Stolfo return to bankruptcy court to renew his argument that the sanctions should have been discharged in his Chapter 7 liquidation proceedings.Leinenweber …
