Report: Lawyers’ Committee election hotline got more than 1,000 calls

After its largest-ever voter hotline effort during the 2016 campaign season, the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law issued a report identifying what Illinois voters found confusing, frustrating and restricting.After categorizing the 1,082 reports called into 888-OUR-VOTE from 61 of Illinois’ 102 counties, the committee identified three areas that dominated the phone lines: ballots issues, registration issues and polling-place issues.In a statement last week announcing the results, the …
