State’s opioid plan incorporates drug courts

SPRINGFIELD — Amid a historic surge in opioid deaths, Gov. Bruce Rauner has signed off on a task force aimed at decreasing such overdoses by one-third.And a key part of the plan, revealed this week, could be an increase in drug courts.A 53-page blueprint unveiled on Wednesday outlines nine key strategies for reducing the projected number of opioid deaths in 2020 by 33 percent.
