Panel: Brief insufficient toward collecting fees

A state appeals panel on Thursday rejected an attorney’s bid to collect $123,000 in legal fees after submitting an appellate brief that the justices said did not include enough case details or sufficient legal arguments.The 1st District Appellate Court panel indicated it was unable to dive into the legal issues surrounding the lawsuit filed against OneBeacon Midwest Insurance Co. by the Law Offices of Arnold H. Landis P.C. because, among other things, Landis never submitted a transcript of the trial proceedings.This …
