Children’s rights advocate honored

Maria Woltjen has spent close to 30 years advocating for children as an attorney.Her efforts were recognized last week when she received the UNICEF Chicago Humanitarian Award for her “commitment to putting children first” and for her work as director of the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights at the University of Chicago Law School.The award honors Chicagoans who have made an “extraordinary impact in the lives of children, whether locally, nationally or internationally.”The Young …
