A state appeals panel published an opinion this week finding that five candidates who ran for office in Franklin Park were allowed to have their names on the ballot, despite an attempt by an objectioner to have them removed for failing to fill in certain details on their statements of economic interest. None of the candidates won in the April 4 election, but they got a nod from the appellate court, which found that a village electoral board was wrong when it originally called for their names to be removed.
