Layoffs hit Cook County court; Evans considers legal response

Cook County’s chief judge is considering “legal options” after county commissioners on Tuesday approved a budget that directs layoffs of 156 circuit court employees in the next fiscal year.After the budget passed, County Board President Toni Preckwinkle’s office announced the branch courts at 2452 W.
