A Cook County jury has awarded $3.5 million to the family of a 17-year-old who was fatally shot outside of a high school basketball game in 2013 on the Chicago State University campus.Plaintiff Pamela Wright Young, mother of victim Tyrone Lawson, sued CSU Police Chief Ronnie Watson and the Chicago Board of Education in 2014, alleging both failed to implement safety measures.Lawson attended the game on Jan. 16, 2013, held at CSU’s Jones Convocation Center, between Morgan Park High School and Simeon Career Academy …
