Jury sides with police in wrongful conviction civil case

A federal jury has ruled against an exonerated Chicago woman who claimed that eight city police detectives framed her with murdering her 4-year-old son.The jury verdict issued earlier this month before U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve is the latest development in the civil rights lawsuit filed by Nicole Harris.Harris was convicted of murder after her son was found strangled in her West Side home in 2005 but ultimately was declared innocent of the crime in 2014.Her civil rights lawsuit sought damages for the wrongful …
