Jury: Doctor contributed 1 percent to $7M injury

A Cook County jury assessed 1 percent fault to a doctor sued as a third-party defendant in a personal-injury case, leaving him responsible for $70,000 of a $7 million settlement awarded last month.In that underlying lawsuit, a man sustained injuries when conduit piping fell on him while working on a construction site in 2009.Richard Cholipski settled his negligence case in November for $7 million against defendants Bovis Lend Lease Inc., Aldridge Electric Inc. and VitaTech Engineering LLC.Previously set for trial in 2014 …
